Visit Santa 2016!

The Travel Broker Team has been to Lapland to visit Santa and we would love to share our experience with you!

Here is Rebecca's story of her visit to Santa in Lapland.

I was so excited when I got the opportunity to go on a Santa Holiday to Lapland to visit Santa Claus and the elves. We set off very early on a cold and dark December morning but once we were all on board the plane our wonderful experience started straight away as the crew wasted no time getting us into the Christmas Spirit by inviting children to come up and tell jokes and funny stories. This was followed by a rousing Christmas Sing Along and of course we had some hot drinks and refreshments to keep us going.
The three hour flight whizzed by and soon we landed in the Winter Wonderland which is snowy Lapland.

On arrival we were quickly brought to the changing area where we were kitted out from top to toe with an insulated jumpsuit, helmet and boots. I had already prepared by wearing thermal layers and bringing along a warm hat and scarf and boy was I glad I did! When we were all ready to go, we set off by motorised sleigh to Santa's Village. A coach transfer option was also available. I couldn't believe we were actually on our way to meet Santa in Lapland!

The view along the journey was absolutely spectacular - I had never seen so much snow and such vast expanses of snow covered forest. When we arrived, we were greeted by Santa's Elves who introduced themselves and then whisked us off for some yummy hot berry juice to warm us up. Lapland Holidays are chilly so it is really important to keep warm! The Elves then told us, with a mischievious grin, that we had to go find Santa ourselves!

And so warmed up and ready, we set off to find the man himself, Santa Claus! As we rambled around the vilage in search of Father Christmas we met some reindeers, I really think one of them was Rudolf as his nose was very, very red! Then it was off to enjoy Husky Rides, some snowball fights with those tricky elves and a beautiful Reindeer Sleigh Ride. During the day when I felt myself getting a bit chilly I nipped back to the 'Berry juice cabin' for a quick warming drink and later called in to the 'Lunch cabin' for another warmup while I tucked into some hot lunch before continuing on our quest to find Santa himself.

Our new Elf friends were great fun and dropped lots of hints as to where we could find Santa so eventually we found Santa's cabin and we were brought in to meet the man himself. He greeted each of the children by name and had presents for them all and we had a lovely time chatting with him and getting our photos taken with him. The whole day was action packed and full of fun and before we knew it our coachs arrived ready to transfer us back to the airport our Lapland holiday from Dublin was nearing it's end.

The journey home was a lot quieter than the outward flight as we were all pretty much tired out and following our dinner on board most people drifted off to sleep to dream about their fabulous unforgettable day in Lapland to visit Santa. This was truly a trip of a lifetime!
