Good morning, Eamonn. It’s great to be here
with our crew today in Clontarf Castle. Can you just introduce yourself for me and
tell us a little bit about the trends you’reseeing in the cruise industry?
Delighted. Hi, I’m Eamonn Ferrin, I’m an Irishman by birth. I am the vice president of our international
business for Norwegian Cruise Line. For thoseof you who don’t know, Norwegian Cruise Line
has 17 ships today. Very large ships inour fleet. We are growing our fleet
by another six ships in the next five years, six years, and we’re seeing great trends in
the marketplace. So people are coming back to cruise more and more. In 2019, 30 million
people worldwide took a cruise. It’s obviouslybeen impacted by the pandemic, but we’re bouncing
back strongly. We’re back in the water, the ships are back in the water, and we’re welcoming
guests. So, glad to be here. What destinations do you think people are
going to cruise next year, Eamonn?

I think Florida, and the Med of course, is always a spectacular choice, and have eightships in 2022 sailing in the Med, so that’s our biggest investing market. Whether you want to go to the Baltics or Athens or the
Greek islands or [inaudible 00:01:11]. So we’ve a lot of optionality on that. Alaska
has five ships operating this summer, so if you are looking for a bucket list destination,
we’ll have some great connections with Aer Lingus and obviously
our pre-clearance in the US market. And as you’ve seen [inaudible 00:01:28] are of course
forward bookings for bucket list destinations like Sydney and Asia and South America

I was just going to say that to you, because we were talking a lot this morning about forward

bookings, and people are booking for ’23 and ’24. Have you seen that?

In fact, we actually put on sale ’23, ’24 just yesterday on a number of our ships. So yeah, I mean we have bucket list destinations like we’re actually going to Antarctica now, from Buenos Aires. Wow.

Our Norwegian Star, which is a wonderful bucket list destination. So yeah, people are looking

farther out, thinking farther out and, as I say, booking early to avoid disappointment, because we typically sell from the top down.Yeah, we see that. Absolutely. By that I mean, it’s the balcony cabins, the club balcony cabins, it’s higher up the ship that sell first. So, if you really want what you want, I would not delay. Are people going for longer durations? They
may try and travel less but stay longer. Yeah. Yeah, I think that because people were being frankly not able to travel for almost two years, there’s a lot of pent up demand.
I said earlier, 30 million people took a cruise. When you think about it, that’s for two years
they haven’t taken a cruise, so that’s almost 50 million people who haven’t had the product
that they normally have. So, the bounce back is going to be strong. It is strong, and we’re
seeing that already, and people are looking farther and farther out, so they can get a
holiday in places they can really enjoy

Good, so the future is bright for the cruise industry.
It is very bright. Thanks so much, Eamonn, for talking to us
