Where is Lanzarote?

Lanzarote is one of seven islands that make up the Canary Islands. It’s the fourth largest and most easterly island. Flying to Arrecife Airport, we offer holidays in four of the most popular resorts in Lanzarote:

  • Costa Teguise
  • Puerto del Carmen
  • Playa Blanca
  • Puerto Calero

The resorts of Playa Blanca, Costa Teguise and Puerto del Carmen are all served by local buses so it’s easy to visit the different resorts.

What family activities are there in Lanzarote?

Rancho Texas Splash & Animal Park

Rancho Texas Park is a brilliant day out for all ages! It has with water slides, pony rides around the Indian Lagoon, magnificently colourful birds on the Pathway of Colour and a gold mine. You can relax and watch a variety of animal presentations like the birds of prey, sea lions, parrots and cockatoos and dolphins.

Submarine Safari

Dive 30m underwater in a yellow submarine and see what’s really under the sea. This is an unforgettable experience, especially for kids who can take part in a colouring competition and Big Sea Life Quiz. A diver even comes around the submarine to feed the fish and give you even more to look at! The whole experience takes about an hour and even though you’ll be surrounded by water, there’s no sea sickness or popping ears in a submarine.

Pirate Museum

The Canary Islands were a popular spot for pirates to plunder in the 15th, 16th and 17th centuries as ships often stopped there en route to and from the Americas. While it forms a violent part of Lanzarote’s history, it’s a fascinating tour as you can see animations of people who lived there at the time, see the weapons, models of the town and ships and walk around the historic Castle of Santa Barbara where the museum is housed.

Aqualava Water Park

While the resort’s pool is great, a water park is always a fun day out and breaks up the holiday. Lanzarote’s Aqualava Water Park is brilliant for every age with their Aqualava Beach, Cosario Beach, Timen Fire water slides and Magma lazy river. The park is a designed as a tribute to the unique volcanic landscape and all their pools are heated by geothermal energy so it won’t be a shock to the system when you put your toe in the water. It has a restaurant, shop, lockers, changing rooms and umbrellas and sunbeds.

Timanfaya National Park

The Timanfaya National Park is a brilliant day trip where you can see the Fire Mountains. More than 100 volcanoes erupted between 1730 and 1736 drastically changing this area. Temperatures just beneath the surface reach between 400°C and 600°C. You can take a coach trip around the park or go on their free guided walking tour.
